During the past two weeks, MBS held a backpack drive to collect new and gently-used backpacks to benefit students at the Avon Avenue School in Newark. More than 50 backpacks were donated by members of the MBS community. Thanks to all of those who participated and made the drive such a success!
The drive was spearheaded by MBS senior Noah Resnick ‘24 along with Director of Community Service Andrea Deventer.
Avon Avenue School is a K-8 public school in Newark, NJ whose core values are captured in the word DREAM: Diligence, Respect, Empathy, A+ Self Control, and Mindful Inquisitiveness. The school’s mission is to cultivate these values in its students so they become lifelong learners who then become skilled leaders.
This fall, Noah Resnick also created the Avon Avenue Club at MBS to plan additional service projects and volunteer opportunities to benefit the school.
