MBS Celebrates LGBTQ+ Pride Week

This week, the MBS Spectrum Club organized Pride Week with a variety of theme days and activities celebrating the LGBTQ+ community.

Each day this week, students wore a different color to show support for members of the LGBTQ+ community. The week also included a variety of activities including: a game show at All-School Meeting, gender bread decorating, a student and faculty panel discussion, and a scavenger hunt.

On Friday, April 12th, the week culminated as members of the MBS community participated in the Day of Silence, in which students across the country vow to take a form of silence to call attention to the silencing effect of anti-LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning) bullying and harassment. MBS students and faculty participated by either wearing a bracelet to indicate their vow of silence for the day, or by wearing a sticker to show support without being silent.

On Friday evening from 5:30 to 8 p.m., members of the MBS community will gather in the lobby of Founders Hall with students from Delbarton and Kent Place for a “Night of Voices.” This show of solidarity will feature a performance by the MBS Step Team and other student performers.
