On Thursday, November 16, the MBS 7th Grade Class embarked on a field trip to the New Jersey State Museum in Trenton, where they made connections with their social studies unit focusing on colonial America through the lens of archaeology.
The 7th Grade students explored artifacts from colonial New Jersey and learned how historians and archaeologists make inferences about the past. Students participated in workshops building models of homes inspired by Lenape architecture, and explored the museum’s archaeological exhibits on a guided tour. The workshops also connected to the students’ ecology unit in their science classes.
The group was accompanied by faculty chaperones Katie Ashby, Kathryn Kao, Ken Tousignant, Tahj Valentine, and Jason Zuck.
