MBS 6th Graders Pitch Ideas for an Underwater Mascot

6th grade science students dove into a research adventure in the Anderson Library’s “Glassroom” with librarian Kaitlyn Meehan, tasked with choosing a mascot for MBS’s fictional underwater campus, CrimSea!  

Guided by science teacher Katie Ashby, three teams pitched their ideas to an esteemed panel: Director of Middle School Aquatics Alonda Casselle P '27 '30, Head of School Liz Morrison, Expert Oceanographer Brad Turner P '26, and Director of Underwater Athletics Tahj Valentine '18. 

The winner? Juan Pablo Tejeda ’31 with his Sea Lion mascot!
