Math Students Design Probability Carnival Games

The Middle School Commons was transformed into an amusement park this week as students in Jennifer Dubeck’s Intro to Integrated Math A class created their own carnival games focused on concepts of probability.

The students’ probability fair included spin-the-wheel games, plinko games, ball toss games, and floating rubber duck games — just like a real amusement park.

Some of the games illustrated concepts of compound probability, while others stuck to the simple probability of tossing a coin. All of the games also featured prizes, from drawings to candy to stress-relief toys.
