Congratulations to MBS parent Maria Powar, who received the 2023 Foley Award as part of the Parents Association Thank You Luncheon on Thursday, May 11.
The Foley Award, which was presented by Head of School Liz Morrison, is given annually to a senior parent whose last child is graduating from MBS, and who has demonstrated extraordinary dedication to Morristown Beard School.
“This year, Maria helped steer the Parents Association in a new direction that included a record number of community and social events, the return of the gala, the return of on-campus volunteering, new and returning community classes, several types of teacher appreciation, and countless other events,” said Ms. Morrison. “Anyone who knows Maria knows that she is a friendly and welcoming face and steady presence at everything that happens in and around the PA.”
We thank Maria for her many years of volunteer service to MBS. The Foley Award is named for E.J. (Kim) Foley, III who was an MBS trustee from 1989 to 1996 and served as Board President from 1996 to 1999.
