Congratulations to MBS senior Ethan Kim ’19, who recently won the Arc of Morris County Distinguished Community Service Award for his work as a founding board member of the Kids to Kids service organization.
At the ceremony, Kim was invited to speak on behalf of Kids to Kids, which is an organization completely student-run from the ground up.
“We serve nearly 300 families in the Morristown area, and to do that we recruit student mentors from nearby schools including MBS,” Kim explained. “Some of our former and present board members include Ryan Waters ’17, Mackenzie May ’17, John Trombetta ’19, Terry Luongo ’21 and Anna Ferrier ’22. We run programs six days a week and are recognized by the Presidential Service Award Committee. Our organization is also recognized by Morristown-Beard School, and many students fulfill their service requirement with us.”
Kim, who was inducted into the Cum Laude Society this spring, will attend Columbia University where he plans to major in film studies.
The award was presented by the Arc of Morris County, which is a local county affiliate of the Arc of New Jersey, which is the statewide organization for children, youth, and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
