Jewish Affinity Group Enjoys Tu BiShvat Walk in Arboretum

On Friday, February 10, members of the MBS Jewish Affinity Group embarked on a walk through the nearby Frelinghuysen Arboretum as part of its observance of Tu BiShvat, a Jewish holiday that celebrates nature.

The group enjoyed mild temperatures and plenty of good company as they walked through the beautiful gardens of the Arboretum. The students were accompanied by Jewish Affinity Group faculty advisors Laura Kirschenbaum and Ben Krauss.

Tu BiShvat occurs on the 15th day of the Hebrew month of Shevat (in 2023 it began at sunset of February 5 and ended in the evening of February 6). In contemporary Israel, the day is celebrated as an ecological awareness day, and trees are planted in celebration.
