On Friday, May 10th, Laura Orlando — a chef originally from Torino, Italy — visited MBS to lead a hands-on cooking demonstration with students in Jenifer Laviola’s Italian class.
Originally from Torino in Northern Italy, Laura Orlando was raised in a family of veteran restauranteurs. She is the owner of Italia 360 and a cooking instructor at Healthy Italia – La Buona Cucina.
She enjoys sharing her philosophy that cooking and dining is more than about simply eating – it’s about celebrating family. “I myself feel that when I am rolling handmade pasta, I am crafting food rather than simply cooking it,” she says.
On Friday, the students put together an Italian salad with fresh tomatoes, basil, crostini and parmesan cheese.
