Ian Michel '23 Receives Morris National Football Foundation Award

Congratulations to senior Ian Michel ‘23, who is Morristown Beard School’s recipient of the 2023 Greater Morris National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete Award. He was honored at a special awards dinner at the Madison Hotel on Thursday, March 30.

The award is presented to one student-athlete from each high school football team in Morris County. These outstanding young men were selected by their Athletic Directors and football coaches not only for their football ability, but also because they are excellent scholars and have demonstrated outstanding school leadership, character, and citizenship.

Ian Michel ’23 has been a leader for the Crimson football team both on and off the field. He has been recognized for achieving a place on the MBS High Honor Roll and was last year’s recipient of the Crimson Award for boys tennis. Ian will play tennis and study finance at Maryville College next fall.

Members of the MBS community who attended the awards dinner on Ian’s behalf included: Upper School Director Athletics Joanne Dzama, Head Football Coach Tim Fell, and Assistant Football Coaches Tahj Valentine and Joe DeKasar.
