Humphries '23 and Melendez '23 Receive League MVP and Unsung Hero Awards

Congratulations to senior ice hockey players Hollis Humphries ’23 and Julian Melendez ’23, who both recently received Mennen Division awards. Humphries is the recipient of the Ken Mullen Award, which recognizes the Mennen Division’s Most Valuable Player, while Melendez received the Harry Shatel Unsung Hero Award. 

Forward Hollis Humphries finished his MBS career as the Crimson all-time boys ice hockey record holder for goals (85), assists (79) and points (164). This season, Humphries served as a team captain and led the Crimson with 27 goals, 26 assists, and 53 points in 22 game played. He was +16 for the year and +71 over the course of his career.

Goalie Julian Melendez was named the league’s unsung hero for his character, humility, commitment, compassion, and community service. This past year, Melendez completed more than 145 hours of community service with Give & Surf, Inc. as well as The Experiment Digital. He also serves as a peer mentor here on campus.
