Hedley '90 Serves as Panelist for Graduway Leadership Summit

Melissa Hedley ’90, Project Manager for Alumni Relations at MBS, was one of four panelists to lead a discussion of “How to Support Your Alumni in the Shadow of COVID-19” as part of the Graduway Leadership Summit on Wednesday, May 20th. More than 5,000 registrants took part in the online summit, which focused on best practices in Alumni Relations and Advancement.

Hedley and three other panelists from Germantown Academy, Gilmour Academy, and Brentwood College School began by sharing a brief overview of their school and how they are adapting to distance learning. They then discussed what their respective alumni offices are doing to support students and alumni during the pandemic.  

Hedley spoke about how Morristown-Beard School has introduced the Class of 2020 to the MBS Connect networking portal and provided resources from Graduway including a new business directory. She also mentioned how MBS designated three seniors as student ambassadors to the Alumni Board this year.

The panelists concluded by addressing “Zoom fatigue” and “email fatigue” as well as social media engagement.
