Hannah Blake '21 Completes AP Art & Design Portfolio

Congratulations to MBS senior Hannah Blake ’21, who recently completed an impressive AP Art and Design portfolio. Her work focused on the differences and similarities in urban, suburban and rural life in the New York/New Jersey metropolitan area.

To complete her portfolio, Hannah used a variety of media including acrylic, oil and watercolor paints, pen and ink, graphite, markers, mixed media, pastel and collage in her pieces.

The AP Art & Design portfolio includes two sections — “Selected Works,” which is comprised of five pieces in any medium, subject, and size that depict principles such as line, shape, color theory, and perspective, and “Sustained Investigation,” which is a collection of 15 pieces that follow an idea or theme and show consistent progression of each new work of art.

The portfolio also includes a written component allowing the student an opportunity to explain their ideas and use examples from their Sustained Investigation with limited words.

A member of the Cum Laude Society, Hannah received this year’s Susan Marie May Art Award.  She will attend Vanderbilt University in the fall.
