GLOW Club Hosts Charity 5K to Benefit Malala Fund

On a beautiful early spring day this Tuesday, members of the MBS community hit the track to participate in the GLOW (Girls Leadership Outreach and Worth) Club annual 5K run/walk fundraiser to support the Malala Fund.

Middle School students participated in the event during their sports period while Upper School teams like track & field also ran laps to show their support. Snacks were on sale and all proceeds will benefit the Malala Fund which sponsors girls' education in developing countries. To learn more, visit https://malala.org.

The GLOW Club is led by Gabriella Biamonte, Samantha Brown, Katherine Chandler, Bridget Ewing, Sarah Marine, Kassy Patino, and Shira Radin.  The faculty advisors are Nikolin Eyrich and Zoe Jameson-Shea.

GLOW creates an inclusive space for girls to collaborate through discussion, planning and leadership. GLOW events include a “buddy program” (mentorship between upperclassmen and underclassmen), a charity 5k, and a speaker series.
