Congratulations to the MBS girls tennis team, which captured the NJAC – Liberty Division title on Tuesday with a 5-0 win against Madison. The Crimson (11-4) finished with a 9-1 division record and have now won the title three times in the past four years.
On Tuesday, the Crimson had strong showings from every player on the roster — Olivia Siegel ’23 (first singles), Jackie Velikiy ’24 (second singles), Ali Strauss ’23 (third singles), Maya Bhide ’23 and Ria Shah ’23 (first doubles), and Isabella Daniels ’23 and Emily Reitman ’24 (second doubles).
Last weekend, members of the MBS girls tennis team enjoyed success at the Prep B Tournament. Jackie Velikiy advanced to the finals in second singles as did Ria Shah and Maya Bhide in first doubles. Olivia Siegel (first singles), Samara Green (third singles), and Isabella Daniels and Emily Reitman (second doubles) all advanced to the semifinal round.
Earlier in the fall, Olivia Siegel captured the Morris County title at first singles. Jackie Velikiy advanced to the finals at second singles while the second doubles team of Maya Bhide and Ali Strauss advanced to the semis.
