Girls Ice Hockey Skates into State Championship Game

The MBS girls ice hockey team skated into the finals of the State Tournament on Monday night, March 2nd after topping Oak Knoll, 6-2, at Twin Oaks Ice Rink. 

The top-seeded Crimson (17-8-1) will now face sixth-seeded Summit (14-6-1) in the championship game on Thursday, March 5th at 7:30 p.m. at the Prudential Center in Newark. Friends, families and students are asked to enter through the Ford Parking Garage’s Skybridge Doors, which will open at 4:30 p.m. (located on the 4th floor of the parking deck). Fans are encouraged to watch the 3rd annual Girls High School All-Star Game at 5:30 p.m. prior to the State Final.

Leah Stecker sparked the Crimson offense on Monday, netting three goals and adding an assist. Lilli Warnock also recorded two goals and an assist while Anna Bajak scored and tallied an assist. Sam Grant had two assists for the game.

In goal, Sasha Berniker made 17 saves on 19 shots to secure the victory.
