Girls Ice Hockey and Basketball Teams Remain Unbeaten

The MBS girls ice hockey and basketball teams continued their winning ways this week to remain unbeaten this winter.

The girls basketball team (4-0) notched back-to-back wins as they defeated Villa Walsh, 45-28, on Wednesday before beating Veritas Christian, 52-36, on Thursday.  Reagan Russo ’21 (11 points), Olivia Omelczuk ’21 (10 points) and Skylar Reale ’23 (10 points) led the way against Villa Walsh. The following day, Omelczuk exploded for 30 points and Erin Martin ’21 pulled down 13 rebounds for the Crimson. The girls basketball team will take on Hanover Park on the road at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 6.

The girls ice hockey team (2-0) trounced Westfield, 10-0, on Thursday behind hat tricks from Leah Stecker ’22 and Jessica Sperling ’24. Lilli Warnock ’23 scored twice, while Logan Sutera ’22 and Annabel Plante ’21 also had goals for MBS. Gracie Meyers ’23 stopped three shots to secure the shutout. The Crimson will play Kent Place on Monday, February 8 at 4 p.m. at Barnabas Hockey House.
