The MBS girls varsity basketball team (22-3) will play for its first ever Morris County Tournament title on Friday night, February 22nd as the Crimson face top-seeded Chatham at 7 p.m. at the County College of Morris.
To advance to the championship game, MBS edged Morristown, 32-30, after staging a dramatic second half comeback. The Crimson’s balanced attack was led by Bridget Monaghan (10 points), Erin Martin (9 points), and Christina DeMatthies (6 points).
In the championship game, the third-seeded Crimson will face Chatham (18-5), a team they defeated, 61-49, on January 28th. Tickets for the game are $5 and are available in advance from the MBS Department of Athletics.
Following their win over Morristown, MBS added wins over Mount St. Dominic and Morris Catholic to improve to 22-3. With the 50-45 win over Morris Catholic, the Crimson secured back-to-back NJAC conference titles. Go Crimson!
