Future Physicians Club Practices Suturing Techniques

Members of the MBS Future Physicians Club of America gathered in Dr. Milinkovic’s room on Thursday, February 11 to practice basic suturing techniques.

The group viewed a brief video by Dr. Buck Parker, a general and trauma surgeon, who demonstrated techniques to close cuts and incisions. The students were then able to try their hand at suturing using kits that included silicone pads and an array of instruments and thread.

The club is planning additional training sessions in the next few weeks to give more students an opportunity to participate.

The MBS Future Physicians Club of America is led by President Paul Boorujy ’21 along with senior officers Kate Miles ’21, Matt Aiello ’21, Olivia Omelczuk ’21 and Jess Patricia ’21. Dr. Marina Milinkovic serves as the Club’s faculty advisor.
