Field Hockey Finishes Outstanding Season with Tough Loss in State Sectional

The MBS field hockey team completed an outstanding season on Wednesday, November 6th as they fell to the top-ranked team in the nation – Oak Knoll – in the NJSIAA Non-Public North championship game, 5-0.

MBS (16-4) played with a tremendous amount of heart, and trailed by just one goal at intermission. Crimson goalie Josie Ashton ’22 led the defense with several impressive saves.

The Crimson advanced to Wednesday’s State Sectional title game following a 1-0 victory over Kent Place at home on Saturday, November 2nd. The lone Crimson goal came from Kaitlyn Tartagione ’21, who scored early in the game after taking a pass from Annabel Plante ’21. Goalie Josie Ashton ’22 stopped six shots in the defensive battle to keep Kent Place off the scoreboard.

This season, MBS captured the Prep B Championship on October 28th with a 2-0 win over Princeton Day School. In addition to competing in the NJSIAA Non-Public North championship game, the Crimson also played into the finals of the Morris County Tournament, where they were edged by West Morris, 2-1.

Congratulations to Head Coach Kate Alderman and the entire squad for such a great season! Go Crimson!
