Field Hockey Advances to State Finals with 2-0 Win

The MBS field hockey team advanced to the finals of the NJSIAA North West B Tournament on Thursday, November 19 after blanking West Milford, 2-0, on the road.

With the win, the third-seeded Crimson (6-1) will now travel to face top-seeded Vernon (13-0) in the championship game on Saturday, November 21 at 11 a.m.

In the semifinal round, senior Jess Patricia ’21 led the way offensively with a goal and an assist.  Senior Ella Singer ’21 also scored a goal for the Crimson. Junior Jose Ashton ’22 turned away four shots for the shutout.

On Tuesday, the Crimson advanced to the semifinal game after avenging a loss to Madison (7-2) earlier in the week. Junior Logan Sutera ’22 put MBS on the board in the third quarter and senior Annabel Plante ’21 scored the decisive goal in the fourth quarter. Junior goalie Josie Ashton ’22 allowed only one goal in the fourth quarter.
