Environmental Science Students Present Research at 13th Annual Poster Conference

This week, Environmental Science students presented their research at the 13th annual Environmental Science Poster Conference. The event took place in the Math & Science Center lobby and marked the end of several weeks of independent investigation. It showcased students’ curiosity, critical thinking, and engagement with important environmental issues.

Throughout the conference, students shared their work with peers, faculty, and staff. This sparked meaningful conversations and allowed them to answer questions about their methods, findings, and conclusions. This year’s topics covered a wide range of current environmental challenges. These included food deserts and their link to food waste, the unintended effects of popular environmental movements like “saving the turtles,” the ecological roles and risks of sand dunes, the effects of coral bleaching, potential ways to tackle it, and how cattle production affects greenhouse gas emissions.

The Poster Conference highlighted the depth of student inquiry and emphasized the need for understanding and caring for the environment as we face complex global issues.

Congratulations to all participating students for their thoughtful research and engaging presentations.
