Eight Seniors Named Commended Students in National Merit Program

Congratulations to MBS seniors Christopher Blancuzzi '26, Morgan Borofsky '26, Philip John Cichlar '26, Antonia Galdi '26, Sarah Marine '26, Sohan Norden '26, Clare Patchett '26, and Jack Song '26, who have been named Commended Students in the 2026 National Merit Scholarship Program.

They are among 34,000 students nationwide recognized for their exceptional academic promise. These Commended Students placed among the top five percent of more than 1.3 million students who entered the competition by taking the 2024 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).

"Those being named Commended Students have demonstrated outstanding potential for academic success," commented a spokesperson for NMSC. "These students represent a valuable national resource; recognizing their accomplishments, as well as the key role their schools play in their academic development, is vital to the advancement of educational excellence in our nation. We hope that this recognition will help broaden their educational opportunities and encourage them as they continue their pursuit of academic success."
