DuBose '20 and Merrigan '20 Receive Military Academy Appointments

Congratulations to MBS seniors JayShon DuBose ’20 and Patrick Merrigan ’20, who recently received their official military academy appointment letters. DuBose will attend the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland while Merrigan earned appointment to the United States Military Academy in West Point, New York.

DuBose was a captain of the varsity football team this year and also served as a captain of the winter and spring track teams.  He serves as Public Relations Officer for the Student Government Association (SGA), is President of Spectrum Club, and is a member of the Social Justice Committee, Kaleidoscope Club, and Step Team. He also serves as a Crimson Ambassador and Peer Group Leader.

Merrigan served as the 12th Grade Class President and is a member of the Cum Laude Society as well as the French Honor Society. He is also the recipient of this year’s Phoebe Stiles King ’49 History Award. He was a Crimson Award winner in both baseball and boys soccer this year and has appeared on the Founders Hall stage in numerous productions including CabaretHow to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, and Merrily We Roll Along.
