Congratulations to MBS 6th Grader Derek Liu ’30, who was selected to the prestigious North Jersey Region Orchestra after a successful audition on Saturday, January 6 at Clifton High School. Derek competed with 91 middle school violinists and ranked 11th overall.
He will now represent Morristown Beard School at the North Jersey Region Orchestra concert on Sunday, February 18 at 3 p.m. at Morris Knolls High School in Rockaway.
At MBS, Derek is a member of the Middle School String Ensemble under the direction of Carolyn Baldacchini, and recently performed a solo piece - Sonata in E Minor, Allegro con Fuoco by Veracini – in the School’s Winter Choral and Instrumental Concert in Founders Hall.
