Degan '23 and Ibrahim '20 Earn Athlete of the Week Honors

Congratulations to MBS girls ice hockey player Alexa Degan ’23 and girls basketball player Addisyn Ibrahim ’20, who earned back-to-back Athlete of the Week honors by the Daily Record

Ibrahim ’20, who was voted Athlete of the Week on February 19, recently reached the 1,000th point of her career and became just the ninth player in MBS girls basketball history to reach the milestone.  Her historic shot came in the first round of a County Tournament game against Morris Knolls. Although MBS didn’t win the game, Ibrahim finished the contest with 25 points. For the week, she averaged 20 points and 11 rebounds per game.

Degan ’23 became the first freshman to be voted Athlete of the Week after she scored two goals including the game-winner as MBS defeated Pingry, 4-3, in overtime of the Prep Championship. Normally a defensive player, Degan shifted to forward for the NJISAA Tournament due to a teammate’s injury. She also had two assists as the Crimson defeated Trinity Hall in the Prep Semifinal.

Go Crimson!
