Community Celebrates Opening of Peter Donahue's Gallery Show

On Thursday night, January 31st, members of the MBS community gathered in the lobby of the Math & Science Center to celebrate the opening of Upper School English teacher Peter Donahue’s exhibition, “Inquiries and Failures: Recent Works in Oil and Acrylic,” in The Phoebe Stiles King ’49 Gallery.

The exhibition documents Peter Donahue’s process of tinkering with alternative color gamuts, paint additives, and application techniques. The resulting paintings range from traditional portraiture to abstract expressionism. In celebration of the learning process, Peter is sharing both "successes" and "failures" in the exhibition.

Donahue joined the MBS English Department in 2014 and is a writer himself: his poetry has appeared in online and print journals such as The LyricExit 13, and Verdad. He also blogs about teaching and writing, publishes a webcomic, and is currently working on a novel. He earned a B.A. and an M.A. from Seton Hall University.
