Coach Driver and MBS Girls Ice Hockey Program Featured in Video

The MBS girls ice hockey program and Head Coach Bruce Driver – a former Stanley Cup Champion with the New Jersey Devils – were featured in a video by Jersey Sports Zone this week: “From Stanley Cup to Girls Hockey: Bruce Driver Builds Powerhouse Program at Morristown-Beard.”

Driver, a former defenseman who played 15 years in the NHL and won a Stanley Cup with the Devils in 1995, began coaching girls ice hockey at Morristown-Beard School 20 years ago and was instrumental in founding the program. The MBS girls ice hockey team gained varsity status in 2001.  

Under his guidance, the team has won an MAGPHL Title (now WIHLMA) in 2005, Prep Titles in 2006, 2017, 2018, and 2019 and WIHLMA titles in 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014. He was inducted into the New Jersey Scholastic Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2015 and the Morristown-Beard School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2014.
