Ceramics and Digital Illustration Classes Collaborate to Create Playing Cards

This week, the Advanced Ceramics class and the Digital Illustration class came together in the Center for Innovation & Design (CID) to work on their iPads and create unique playing cards.

Using Procreate, students put together a collage of photos and traced over the image to create a black-and-white line art image. Once completed, the Advanced Ceramics students will print them out and create a carving of them for their class with Mr. Mazouat.

Mrs. Whelan and Ms. Sediq will be teaching the Digital Illustration students how to use layers to put color to their cards and display them in the future. The students got a chance to combine traditional and digital art skills for their pieces and will be able to see the difference in the kinds of products they can produce!
