Congratulations to MBS graduate Bridget Monaghan ’19, a sophomore guard for the University of Scranton women's basketball team, who earned Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Honorable Mention All-American honors.

This comes on the heels of an impressive season in which Monaghan earned First Team All-Region honors from D3hoops.com and was named Landmark Conference Player of the Year along with receiving First Team All-Conference accolades.

Monaghan helped lead the Lady Royals to a sixth straight Landmark Conference title as she led the team and ranked third in the Landmark in scoring at 14.4 points per game, while also averaging 4.0 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.5 steals per game. The MBS graduate shot 42.9% from the floor and 37.1% from long range, a number that ranked second in the conference.

Scranton went 7-1 on the season and Monaghan scored in double figures in all eight games including a career-high 22 points on Feb. 21 vs. Catholic. She registered 12 points on 5-of-9 shooting, five rebounds and three assists in the Landmark Conference championship game triumph over the Cardinals.
