Congratulations to the MBS boys varsity swim team for placing third overall in the county at Morristown High School on Saturday, January 26th. The boys swim team was led by the 200-meter freestyle relay team of Jack Armstrong ’19, Peter Carchia ’21, Aidan Hughes ’19, and Terry Luongo ’21, who set a new county record in the event with a time of 1:38.24.
In addition, Armstrong placed third in the 200-meter freestyle (1:58) and third in the 100-meter freestyle (54.01), Carchia was third in the 100-meter butterfly (59.77), Hughes placed second in the 100-meter freestyle (53.02) and second in the 100-meter backstroke (58.83), and the MBS 400-meter freestyle relay team finished second in 3:39.34, breaking another School record.
On the girls’ side, junior Margot Armstrong ’20 broke the School record in the 400-meter freestyle and placed 10thoverall. She swam a 4:44.61, beating the previous mark of 4:48.95 by more than four seconds!
