Boys Soccer Team Edged in State Semifinals

The MBS boys soccer team completed a very successful season on Tuesday, November 5th as they were edged by Gill St. Bernard’s – the #8 team in the state – 3-2, on the road in the NJSIAA Non-Public B semifinals.

The Crimson (14-8) jumped out to a 2-0 lead over Gill St. Bernard’s behind goals from Massimo Banfi ’20 and Owen McCann ’20, but were unable to hold on. Goalkeeper Thomas Wohlbruck ’21 played a tremendous game, stopping 14 shots to keep the Crimson close throughout the contest.

Morristown-Beard advanced to the semifinal round following a convincing 3-1 win over Dwight-Englewood at home on November 1st.  Massimo Banfi ’20 led the way offensively with two goals, while Dominick Commesso ’20 also tallied a goal for MBS.

Congratulations to Head Coach Andres Callejas and the entire team for such a great season! Go Crimson!
