Boys Soccer Advances to State Semifinal

Congratulations to the MBS boys varsity soccer team for advancing to the NJSIAA North Jersey Non-Public B semifinal after their 3-1 win over Dwight-Englewood on Friday, November 1st at home.

The Crimson offense was led by senior Massimo Banfi ’20, who scored two goals, and Dominick Commesso ’20, who scored one. Owen McCann ’20 had an assist for MBS, which led 1-0 at the intermission.

Defensively, goalie Thomas Wohlbruck ’21 stopped six shots for the Crimson.

With the win, third-seeded MBS improved to 14-7 and will now face second-seeded Gill St. Bernard’s in the North Jersey Non-Public B semifinal at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 5th in Gladstone. The Crimson are looking to avenge an earlier defeat to Gill - a 4-2 loss on October 21st.
