Boys Lacrosse to Play for NJSIAA North Jersey, Non-Public B Title

After posting a 15-12 win over Montclair Kimberley Academy on Saturday, May 25th, the MBS boys lacrosse team is charging into the championship game of the NJSIAA North Jersey, Non-Public B Tournament.  The Crimson will face Rutgers Prep for the title on Thursday, May 30th at 1 p.m. at Livingston High School.

Senior Blake Bernstein ’19 led the way offensively in the semifinals, netting five goals to lead sixth-seeded Morristown-Beard to the upset of second-seeded MKA.  Cam Fernandez added four goals and an assist for the Crimson while Mason Guida and Luke Smith tallied two goals apiece. Morristown-Beard jumped out to a quick 7-2 lead at the end of the first quarter and withstood a late rally by MKA to secure the victory.

The win was the third in a row for the Crimson (9-13), who look to avenge a tough 11—6 loss to Rutgers Prep in the Prep B Finals just two weeks ago.

Tickets for the championship game are $5 for adults, $2 for students and senior citizens. As the visiting team, MBS fans are asked to sit on the ticket booth/main entrance side, closest to the school building.

Go Crimson!
