Congratulations to the MBS boys indoor track team for capturing the Prep Championship on Saturday, February 1st at Lawrenceville. The Crimson finished in first place with 98 points, while Gill St. Bernards was second with 77 and Pennington finished third with 74.
Senior JayShon DuBose ’20 tallied 36 points for MBS, finishing first in the 55-meter hurdles and the high jump, and taking second in the 200 and 400 meters. Owen McCann ’20 also had a huge day for the Crimson, winning the 3200 meters and placing second in the 1600.
Sophomore Matt Loprete ’22 was second in the 55 hurdles, fifth in the 55 meters and sixth in the 200 while junior Luka Okuzu ’21 placed third in the 400 and fifth in the 800 meters.
The 4x400 team of Aaron Morton ’22, Matt Loprete ’22, Luka Okuzu ’21, and Owen McCann ’20 placed second, and MBS also got some strong results from its shot put athletes. Senior Zach Lebovitz ’20 was second in shot put, while Sam Wilshinsky ’21 was fourth and Scott Smith ’20 was fifth — all with huge personal records.
The MBS girls indoor track team also did well, placing fifth overall. The team was led by senior Rachael Kelson ’20, who was third in the 400 and fifth in the 55-hurdles. Amanda Fradkin ’20 was fourth in the high jump. The girls 4x400 team of Rachael Kelson ’20, Amanda Fradkin ’20, Kim Adams ’20, and Tess Hanlon ’22 placed third overall.
