Boys Hockey Skates Into Mennen Cup Final

The MBS boys ice hockey team advanced to the Mennen Cup final in convincing fashion after defeating Chatham, 7-0, on Thursday, February 20th. The Crimson will now face Randolph in the Mennen Cup final on Saturday, February 22nd at 4:15 p.m. at Mennen Arena. 

Morristown-Beard School has won 11 Mennen Cup titles in the tradition-rich tournament, including four consecutive Mennen Cups from 2014 through 2017.

To advance to this year's championship game, the Crimson (18-4-1) skated past Chatham thanks to a hat trick from Nick Vantassell ’22 and goals from Cam Fernandez ’21, Tommy Matthews ’20, Evan Sanford ’20, and Hollis Humphries ’23. In goal, Luke McManus ’21 stopped 16 shots to earn the shutout victory. Randolph (17-2-4) advanced to the finals with an 8-2 win over Madison.

Following the Mennen Cup championship game, the #8 seed Crimson will play in the first round of the NJSIAA Non-Public Tournament on Wednesday, February 26th when they take on #9 seed St. Joseph (Montvale) at 5:45 p.m.  Go Crimson!
