In celebration of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, MBS dance and music students engaged in a series of workshops with the Ma Yong Performing Arts Group on Tuesday, May 30. During the sessions, Upper and Middle School students learned traditional Chinese dances and songs.
Also, during the lunch periods, the Ma Yong Performing Arts Group performed on the Class of 2020 Quad, showcasing their vibrant songs and choreography.
The Ma Yong Performing Arts Group was founded in 1998 with a focus on teaching Chinese traditional dance. After many successful years in business, it transformed into a comprehensive Performing Arts school in 2015.
Based in East Brunswick, the Ma Yong Performing Arts Group provides a variety of dance classes, such as Chinese traditional dance, hip hop, Indian classical dance, Latin and social dance. The group also offer classes in Chinese martial arts, such as Kung Fu and Wu Shu, providing an opportunity to learn about Chinese culture. Other offerings by Ma Yong Performing Arts Group include: group and private vocal classes; drawing classes; fashion modeling coaching; and Engineering for Kids.
