Ashleigh Scully '20 Helps Guide TCU Equestrian Team into NCEA Semifinals

Congratulations to MBS alumna Ashleigh Scully ’20, a sophomore at Texas Christian University, who helped guide the 4th-ranked TCU equestrian team to the NCEA National Championship Semifinal with a 12-8 victory over reigning National Champion Georgia last weekend.

The TCU Horned Frogs got off to a slow start against Georgia, dropping their first two events before Ashleigh Scully won Fences with a score of 239.  This year, she posted an impressive 13-6 record in the event, and was 8-3-1 as a freshman.

"We are thrilled with the result, this is totally what we came for," said TCU Director of Equestrian Haley Schoolfield. "We are so proud of our athletes for persevering and bringing the energy up after we started a little bit slower than we would have liked to. They decided that was not the result they wanted to take and took it from there."

Although TCU fell to top-ranked Oklahoma State, 13-6, in the NCEA Semifinal on April 15, Ashleigh Scully again had a strong showing in Fences, defeating her opponent with a score of 240.

Congratulations to Ashleigh and the entire team on an outstanding season!
