Andrew Low's Hockey Fundraiser Rescheduled for August

MBS rising junior Andrew Low ’22 hasn’t let the pandemic stop his ice hockey fundraiser to help raise money for cancer charities. The event, which was originally scheduled for mid-March, has been rescheduled for Friday, August 21st at 7 p.m. at RWJ Barnabas Health Hockey House, the practice arena of the New Jersey Devils in Newark.

Low, who lost both paternal grandparents and his dog to cancer within a six month span in 2016, raised more than $14,000 for St. Jude Children’s Hospital last year through an ice hockey game at Twin Oaks.  This year, he is raising money for The Valerie Fund after visiting one of their cancer centers.

“When I visited Morristown Medical Center and saw the kids laying there both brave and scared at the same time, I knew I had to help,” said Low, who created his own website for Kids Ice Cancer

When the pandemic hit, Low’s charity was less than $5,000 away from its goal of raising $125,000 to benefit children with cancer and blood disorders.  The August ice hockey game represents the final push for his charity to reach its goal.

Admission for the ice hockey game is free.  If you would like to make a donation, please click here: https://www.thevaleriefund.org/specials/hockey/
