7th Graders Throw Year-End Celebration for Neighborhood House Children

Members of the Morristown-Beard School 7th Grade Leadership Group sponsored a year-end celebration for youngsters at Neighborhood House of Morristown on Wednesday, May 29th.

As part of the final volunteer visit of school year, members of the 7th grade Leadership Group ran a special program for the preschoolers who were "graduating" to kindergarten. MBS students organized "field day" activities complete with face painting, games, and snacks. Thank you to all of the 7thGrade families who generously donated snacks and drinks for the event.

Students who assisted in the year-end celebration included: Campbell Blake, Sam Bodack, Samantha Brown, Adin Kasmin, Jerry Meranus, Emily Reitman, Danica Rosenbloom, Daniel Sasse, Hayley Sgro, Jonah Tinkelman, Alex Turben, Luca Tutela, Gabriella Urbano, and Svea Winghardt. The students were accompanied by MBS Middle School teachers Cathy Kellstrom and Rob Mead.

The Neighborhood House is a division of Cornerstone Family Programs (formerly Family Service of Morristown). They strive to build better lives and stronger communities by helping individuals, families, and new immigrants who are confronting economic and other life challenges. Their programs include pre-school, after-school, summer camp, recreation, tutoring, and parenting education programs.
