6th Grade Math Students Create Scale Drawings

This week, Mrs. Dubeck’s 6^thGrade math students have been creating their own scale drawings — making large posters of everything from the Starbucks logo to characters from SpongeBob SquarePants and The Lion King.

The students took a small image, measured it and then enlarged it using their knowledge of proportions and ratios.

“This year’s class is really taking the project seriously and they’re doing some great work,” said Mrs. Dubeck. “I’m very, very proud of them!”

Mrs. Dubeck said that she hopes to display the students’ drawings in the Middle School Commons once they are completed.
