10th Graders Learn about the Importance of Gratitude

This week, the MBS 10th Grade Class learned more about the power of gratitude by participating in a workshop with Upper School Counselors Barbara Smith and Sean Latino. In the coming weeks, each sophomore will receive a gratitude journal in advisory and will be given prompts regularly to help the students focus on the blessings in their life.

The counselors explained the many scientific benefits of practicing gratitude in one’s daily life — better sleep, improved health, increased happiness, becoming more resilient, and gaining peace of mind.

In advisory, the students will keep a journal to track the good things in their life, draw pictures, collect inspiring quotes, and respond to insightful prompts. The journals will not be graded or looked at by anyone other than the student.

Happy journaling!
