Update on COVID-19 Testing for Upper School Winter Athletes
As we wrap up the fall athletic season, we have completed 10 weeks of COVID-19 testing and processed over 3,000 test kits.  We have reported seven weeks of zero cases through our testing program. The results of these weekly testing cycles can be seen here.

We continue to be encouraged by the high vaccination rates of our eligible students  and the low number of positive tests over the last three months. These, coupled with low transmission rates in our county, are encouraging milestones.

While recent news is encouraging, we continue to believe that testing our Upper School athletes is an important tool in our mitigation strategies on campus. To that end, we will begin weekly testing of all our Upper School winter student-athletes, regardless of vaccination status, starting on Tuesday, November 30 from 2:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. and then subsequently on Dec. 7, Dec. 14, and Jan. 4 from 2:30 p.m – 3:30 p.m.

Test kits will be handed out to student-athletes by their respective coaches a day prior to collection, and reminders about the weekly testing cycle for winter athletes will be sent out on Mondays.

We will continue with weekly testing of our winter student-athletes and determine the scope and scale of our future testing protocols based on the test results and community and county transmission rates in early January.

More detailed information about COVID-19 policies for Upper School winter student-athletes can be found here. Thank you to all the fall athletes for their support during the weekly testing periods.

MBS PA Fiction Book Club — Monday, November 8, 7 p.m.
We are excited to start the year off with Confessions of Frannie Langton: A Novel by Sara Collins. Here is a brief summary of the novel:

"This breathtaking debut, winner of the Costa First Novel Award, is a murder mystery that travels across the Atlantic and through the darkest channels of history. A brilliant, searing depiction of race, class, and oppression that penetrates the skin and sears the soul, it is the story of a woman of her own making in a world that would see her unmade. All of London is abuzz with the scandalous case of Frannie Langton, accused of the brutal double murder of her employers, renowned scientist George Benham and his eccentric French wife, Marguerite. Frannie claims she cannot recall what happened that fateful evening, even if remembering could save her life. But she does have a tale to tell: a story of her childhood on a Jamaican plantation, her apprenticeship under a debauched scientist who stretched all bounds of ethics, and the events that brought her into the Benhams' London home—and into a passionate and forbidden relationship. Though her testimony may seal her conviction, the truth will unmask the perpetrators of crimes far beyond murder and indict the whole of English society itself."
