Sarah Ellerton
Sarah Ellerton is an assistant coach of the swim team at Morristown Beard School.
Sarah Ellerton is in her first season as an assistant coach at Morristown Beard School, and her first season coaching at the high school level. Ms. Ellerton served as a junior coach on her local summer club team, and taught swim lessons for over 9 years. As an athlete, Ms. Ellerton served as captain of both the women’s water polo and swim teams in high school and college, set numerous school records in both sports, and was named an Academic All-American all four years in college water polo.
Ms. Ellerton started swimming competitively at age 6, progressing on to USS teams in Connecticut, during which time she made several national cuts for long course events (primarily breaststroke and the individual medley). Ellerton continued swimming at Suffield Academy, where she also played field hockey and water polo. With her teammates, Ellerton set several records in the medley and freestyle relays. Her individual events were the 100 Breaststroke and the 200 IM.
She continued to play water polo and compete on the swim team at Macalester College, a NCAA Division III program in Minnesota. Her swimming focused shifted, in part due to an injury, to middle distance and sprint freestyle; her 100 freestyle PR remains on the top 10 list of time for Macalester College.
Ms. Ellerton was the leading goal-scorer in the nation in Spring 2007 among all of women’s collegiate water polo, and continues to hold Macalester College school records in goals scored (season and career) and steals (season and career). Her accolades include several all-Conference awards, all-Tournament appointments, and Midwest Player of the Year, in addition to making the Academic All-American lists.
Ms. Ellerton is looking forward to connecting with the MBS community through coaching as well as through her role as Director of Admission and Financial Aid! She is excited to help grow the swim program through a focus on technical skills and training, a respectful, competitive spirit, and team camaraderie!
