Joseph Lodato

Joe Lodato is the head coach of the Morristown Beard varsity boys lacrosse team.
A New Jersey native, Lodato has more than a decade of experience coaching at all levels of the sport, including nine years at the collegiate level at various NCAA Division III institutions. Lodato most recently served as an assistant with Oratory Preparatory School (NJ) as a defensive coordinator and mentored student-athletes in the college recruiting process.
Prior to his time at Oratory, Lodato spent time as the head men’s lacrosse coach at Centenary University & Facilities Director from 2018-2022 as well as head men’s lacrosse coach & game management coordinator at Keystone College from 2016-2018. He also served as the conference representative for the NCAA Division III Regional Advisory Committee (2016-2021) as well as NCAA Division III All-American Regional Sub-Committee (2016-2021).
During his tenure as a collegiate head coach, Lodato mentored numerous All-Conference players including the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Rookie of the Year in the 2021 season.
Before entering the coaching field, Lodato played lacrosse for Misericordia University. He was a three-year varsity captain and four-year starter at defense and face-off positions. During Lodato’s playing days at Toms River North High School, he was a two time All-Conference selection for lacrosse as well as a varsity captain on the football team.
Lodato is a graduate of Misericordia University with a bachelor’s degree in Education. He is also the On-Staff Substitute Teacher at the School. He is a 10-year member of the Intercollegiate Men’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IMLCA) as well as a 14-year member of the US Lacrosse Association.
