Christian Gomez-Reyes is head coach of the junior varsity boys soccer team and a Spanish teacher at Morristown Beard School.
Gómez has had a passion for soccer his whole life as it is embedded in his culture. He enjoys sharing this passion with his team and looking for creative ways to help his players grow in their skills, take risks and become a cohesive unit. Gómez comes to us after working as part of the soccer coaching staff at Delbarton School for three years.
Originally from Lima, Perú, Gómez grew up playing soccer with his friends, eventually being recruited to play for an academy team sponsored by Perú’s leading television station. This is where his enthusiasm for the game shifted from a hobby to potential for a future and excitement for growth as a player. At the age of 15, Gómez moved to the United States to live with his brothers. He has since kept his passion for soccer alive through following professional games and players and studying drills and strategies. Coach Gómez is passionate about soccer and believes that you can reinforce core values like respect and responsibility to young generations through the game. Gómez works together with the varsity coaches sharing and helping the program's structure and primary goals.
Gómez currently resides in Jersey City, New Jersey, with his wife, Jenna, and three-year-old son, Julián. He looks forward to building this years team and connecting with his players, and finding ways to bring out the best in them both on and off the field.
