Scott McCormick is the head coach of the Morristown-Beard Track & Field team. He previously also coached the Cross-Country team at MBS. Under his leadership, the team has grown in numbers and shown steady improvement and sent many athletes to State Championship meets and have been awarded a number of medals at the Morris County Championships. Team members have set numerous school record during his tenure, speaking to the high expectations and demanding training encouraged by Coach McCormick. JayShon DuBose, Jamie Sheppard, and Nicole Borowiec have been notable athletes on the MBS Track & Field team over the past few years, with high achievement in the hurdles and sprints.
Prior to coaching at Morristown-Beard, Coach McCormick was an assistant indoor and outdoor track and field coach for seven years at the Peddie School in Hightstown, NJ. He competed in Track & Field at the University of Saskatchewan from 1996-2001, focusing on the 200m-400m races and the 400mH, earning All-Canadian honors and a National Championship in 2001 in the 4x400m relay. Coach McCormick continues to be a dedicated running, competing in a number of road and trail races each year. He is a member of the science department and teaches Chemistry, Biology, and Environmental Science at Morristown-Beard.
