Scott McCormick is in his tenth season as head coach of the Morristown Beard Spring Track & Field team, and recently completed his first season as the head coach of the Winter Track & Field team.  Under his leadership, the team has shown steady growth in the number of participants and fantastic improvements in individual performances, with team members setting as many as 200 total personal records in a season.  Numerous school records have fallen during his tenure, speaking to the high expectations and demanding training encouraged by Coach McCormick.  In the past ten years, Crimson athletes have been winners at the Conference, County, Sectional, and State level of competition, with a number of athletes qualifying for the Meet of Champions each year.  During the 2020 Winter Track & Field season, the Boys team captured its first ever State Prep Championship.     

Prior to coaching at Morristown Beard, Scott was an assistant indoor and outdoor track coach for seven years at the Peddie School in Hightstown, NJ.  Scott competed in Track & Field at the University of Saskatchewan from 1996-2001, focusing on 200m-400m races and the 400mH, earning All-Canadian honors and a National Championship in 2001 in the 4x400m relay.  Scott continues to be a dedicated runner and recreational cyclist, competing in a number of road and trail races each year.  He teaches Chemistry and Environmental Science at Morristown Beard.
