Meredith Locasto was appointed as head coach of the Crimson Girls Lacrosse program in 2009 after having served as an assistant coach from 2006-2009 at Chatham High School. During her 5 seasons of involvement with the program, the Crimson has amassed an overall record of 45-28, including the NJSIAA State Prep B championship in 2010 and 2014, and the Colonial South conference title in 2013. Her squad has also been well represented on the all-conference and all-prep teams and on the Academic all-American squad. Five of Locasto’s current and former players are competing or have competed at the collegiate level, two at the division one level.
As a player, Coach Locasto was a four-year starter for the College of New Jersey, anchoring the defense for the Lions. Over her collegiate career she played in four final fours and won two National Championships in 2005 and 2006. She was named to the IWLCA/US Lacrosse Boardwalk All-Region First team and earned All-American and Academic All-American honors her junior and senior years (2005, 2006) and received an invitation to try out for the US National Team.
Locasto has been a member of the NJ Lacrosse Board of Trustees for the past three years. Her role includes responsibility for organizing and running the NJ Jamboree and Senior All-Star games as well as being the NJ High School Girl’s coaches’ liaison. She also is the tournament director for the Morris County Middle School Girls’ lacrosse tournament and has served as a head coach for STEPS lacrosse, an elite travel team based in Chester, NJ.
Locasto is a graduate of the College of New Jersey. She graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science and Education. She is a wellness teacher at Morristown Beard, and also serves as the Director of Student Activities. She resides in Long Valley with her husband Steven and son Parker.
