Our students are empowered to take hold of their education and explore the multitude of academic options offered across the curriculum. Our program emphasizes critical thinking, problem solving, independent thought, intellectual risk-taking, seeing how each subject contributes to a richer understanding of the world.
Admission Process

Athletics
Athletics are a vital part of the MBS experience. More than 80 percent of our students play at least one sport and our coaches aspire to help all our young people find the very best in themselves. We put great emphasis on participation, with an unwavering commitment to the fundamental values of fair play and sportsmanship.
Middle School Clubs & Activities
As clubs in the Middle School are student driven and based on what the students, themselves, wish to explore, club offerings change often and have included Anime Films of Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli, Chess Club, Escape Room, Fantasy Football, Mindfulness Coloring, Outdoor Photography, Tinkering / Maker Space, Yoga, and more.

Decades of academic research highlight the importance of both meaningful teacher-student engagement and highly experiential learning in the intellectual growth of young people. Accordingly, we have created three Centers for Learning to best put these concepts into practice.
Arts
We believe in the power of the arts to stimulate creative thinking, resourceful problem solving, collaboration and teamwork, aesthetic appreciation, and openness to new ideas.The arts also help us make powerful, meaningful connections to the world at large and our place in it.

From our curricular philosophy to our ambitions for a Morristown Beard graduate, we believe students should be civically engaged and mindful of others' experiences. Likewise, we strive to build and nurture a culture that reflects the communities we serve and where everyone feels empowered to be their full, authentic selves.
Upper School Clubs & Activities
Upper School clubs and activities include everything from a Student Government Association with a real voice in school life to Crimson Sun, our school newspaper, Kaleidoscope, our multi-cultural diversity club, the Film Club, the Community Service Club, a Dungeons and Dragons Club, and a multitude of other clubs created by the students themselves.
