Applications to MBS are managed securely through Veracross, a portal-based application website. Learn more about our application process or begin your application, or call the Admission Office at 973-532-7516.

Morristown Beard School, a private middle school and private high school, welcomes applications for grades 6 through 11.

Yes, student and parent/guardian interviews are required to complete the application process.

Once you have submitted the online application, a family can reserve a date and time for the student and parent interview​ in their Veracross Admission Application Account​. 

Your interview will be conducted over Zoom or in-person and lasts ​approximately one hour​: ​30 minutes for the student, and 30 minutes for the parent. 

Families can choose their interview type when they make the interview appointment. Please note that an in-person interview will not be weighted higher than a virtual interview.

Morristown Beard School requires recommendations from teachers and administrators who are currently instructing your student in the 2024-25 school year.

• Head of School, Principal, or Guidance Counselor Recommendation 

• Math Recommendation

• English Recommendation

• History, Science, or World Language Recommendation

An optional recommendation may be submitted from a past teacher or someone who knows your student in another capacity such as a coach, music instructor, volunteer leader, tutor, former teacher, etc.

Please note that financial aid at MBS is awarded annually based on a family's ability to afford tuition. It is MBS school policy to continue assistance throughout a student's time at MBS, provided that a family continually demonstrates financial need and the student's record merits continued support.

Morristown Beard School subscribes to the principles and services of Clarity. The parents/guardians of each applicant are required to complete the Tuition Aid Application and submit the form to Clarity. Copies of recent W-2 forms as well as copies of U.S. Federal Tax Form 1040 (along with all supporting schedules and business statements, if applicable) also must be submitted to Clarity.

Yes, the Morristown Beard School Merit Scholarship program provides awards to two matriculating 6th grade students. To learn more, visit the Tuition and Financial Aid page.

Transportation services are available through Bel Air Transport at an additional cost to families. For more information, please contact Sarah Ellerton, Director of Admission and Financial Aid, at sellerton@mbs.net.

Throughout the Middle and Upper Schools, most classes feature small sizes – typically, 12-14 students. In the Upper School, several Advanced Seminars have fewer than 10 students, and Independent Study courses are a 1-to-1 student to teacher academic experience.

The Middle School features approximately 135-150 students, while the Upper School typically has between 445-470 students.

MBS is proud to feature a student to faculty ratio of 7 to 1.

Morristown Beard School is pleased to share that our community is made up of 49% male-identifying students and 51% female-identifying students.

On most school days, the MBS campus is open from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM.
